Song Obsession Of The Week
Kanye West “Paranoid” feat. Mr. Hudson (Island Def Jam)
People love to hate Kanye. Yes, he’s full of himself but that’s not stopping him from making great music. It’ll make for a great biopic someday. Would Ray or Walk the Line be as exciting without the drug use and womanizing? Give Kanye a break with his Jesus complex. Things could be worse.
It’s been...

Song Obsession of the Week
Lykke Li “I’m Good, I’m Gone” (LL Recordings/ Warner Music UK)
This week’s song (and video!) obsession comes from Sweden’s Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson, but better knows by her stage name Lykke Li. I think there’s an astrological reason behind why I love this song and video so much. Lykke Li and I share the same birthday (what up Pisces!) and her debut album, Youth Novels, was released on May...
Thanks EVERYDAY TV for putting this together! Peep me at :57 and my art through out the whole thing.
Song Obsession Of The Week
Murs “Everything” (Warner Bros. Records)
This week’s song obsession comes from the west coast emcee Murs (birthname Nick Carter) who’s been in the game for over ten years. This week’s song “Everything” is off his first major label solo release,Murs for President. The name ‘MURS’ is an acronym for Making Underground Raw Sh!t. He’s also a vegetarian and not clue if he likes long...
And oldie but a goodie. Have a good weekend everyone! Aphex Twin: Come to Daddy I always felt bad for the old woman in the video. Like what if that was my grandma?
Anonymous: I'm bummed about prop 8 as well, but doesn't it seem a little silly to protest something that majority just voted for?
Me: On December 1, 1955, was it "silly" (as you put it) for Rosa Parks to stand up for what she believed in and refuse to give up her seat on the bus? Was it "silly" for over 50,000 people to stand up for what they believed in and protest the segregation of blacks and whites on public buses?
Was it "silly" for women to fight for their right to vote? Less than a hundred years ago in 1920, the 19th amendment to the CONSTITUTION was ratified so women could vote. Was that "silly" for women to fight for that right against the "majority"?
Was it "silly" for those people to stand up for human rights they believed in? Rights that they were being denied because of their race? Because of their gender? And now because of their sexual orientation?
If these people didn't stand up for what they believed in against popular vote AT THE TIME, women would still be chained to the oven in the kitchen, and someone other than an old white guy definitely wouldn't have just been voted in as president of the United States of America.
I'm not fighting just against a proposition that was put on a ballot. I'm not fighting for a tax break so I can afford a vacation to Hawaii next year. I'm fighting for my peers and best friend's who aren't being granted the same basic rights that I have. I'm fighting against injustice. I'm fighting against hatred. I'm fighting for LOVE. I'm fighting for what I believe in.
